Does the job, very bad quality
It certainly displays the console output on your screen but it does this maybe the worst way possible. I used all three (standart AV, component, S-Video) cable with my Wii and in every case the image was blurry and the colors strange. No matter how much you tune it, it's just a quick solution.

Good choice for a VGA box
I've been using this for a few months now, and thought I'd toss in my opinion regarding this product. I use this every day with my PS2 (through an S-Video cable also from Play-Asia) and every so often with my GameCube (through the standard 1st pary composite cables) to display on my BenQ FP931 LCD monitor. I feed this into a (no-name) four-way VGA switch box, and it all works fine.

One thing I will say is that fine-tuning the colors did take a bit of work. At first, I stuck with the defaults, and the colors tended towards gray, but after quite a bit of fiddling, I got decent results.

Having one system connected via S-Video, and one via RCA and being able to switch between them is nice; I only wish that there was a way to switch between sound inputs as well. As it is, when I want to use my GC, I have to swap the two RCA connectors for sound

I use this with a set of headphones, although you can feed it to speakers, or whatever as well. I recommend getting a pair of headphones with volume control (like the Sony MDR-V250), as this VGA box cannot change the game volume in anyway.

Overall, this is a solid unit, probably as good as your going to get for systems that don't do VGA natively.

Does what it should, but could be better
I'm using a 17" Dell Ultrasharp TFT LCD with my slim PS2, connected via a component cable (also purchased from this website). Somehow, colour saturation cannot be adjusted while using this cable, but S-Video and composite can. The colours are way too bright but I have had to live with it. Also the TV output doesn't work (I've only tried composite, my TV has no S-video input), but oddly, the sound works. No image comes up on the TV screen and there's now way to switch the output from VGA to TV.

The lack of a manual is disturbing but otherwise, the package is pretty complete. The audio passthrough works extremely well, maintaining (or even boosting) the audio output. However, I used my own high-quality cable as the supplied audio cable is pathetically low quality.

All in all, the image is ok (except for the colour saturation) and playable.

I'am Happy
It isn't the best, but it gets the job done. For xbox and maybe playstation 2, straight out of the box (L,R,V) jacks won't suffice. I have the s-video for playstation 2 and it worked pretty good. It could have been in a higher res, but it was better then Halo on xbox. I tried it with plain hook-ups and it was just terriable! The picture had this soft edge around the shield & health bar and glowed blue where it was found. Imangine haveing the graphics turned really far down on a PC game, and the models having no detail on their face or clothes. Conclusion is that a s-video jack has around a 9% loss in detail, opposed to around 20% for the AV jacks. I used a Accu Sync 22inch monitor with it. Has good audio also. On my headphones I use for counter-strike, which have volume control, it was just right. I haven't tried it out, but it has video out. You wouldn't have to burn movies, and you could play cs or half-life 2 on your TV!

The console to TFT solution!
Very good video signal converter that has a choice of input connections to suit your needs. I would however, recommend using the Component input connection with every device you connect to it. (if your device supports it) The picture quality is far superior to S-Video and Composite. With my particular setup (cables and monitor) the picture from S-Video and Composite were fuzzy and somewhat blurred. I used this converter to connect my Pal PS2 to my TFT monitor, though I have not tried to connect a normal CRT monitor to it, the picture quality may be a little better. That said, the image you get through a TFT is not bad at all. Just remember when connecting a PS2, use a PS2 component cable and change the video output to Component in the PS2 system configuration. Something I forgot to do and wondered why it wasnt working :) once I changed the setting the picture quality was very good indeed. You may have to change the settings to get the correct colour balance/brighness and dont sit too close to the monitor. Very good price for this item and it arrived very quickly!
