I haven't played yet but I really like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not like SEGA when they took over puyo puyo and changed the game totally,
but I guess SEGA realized now that people wants old puyo back!!!!
especially characters!!!!!!!!!!! SHEZO & ARLE!!
I'm little disappointed that Witch is not there but anyway, I cannot wait 'till it comes!
much better than puyo puyo fever! i'll have to admit that i have been addicted to puyo puyo since way back in the famicom days!
each release seemed to get better and better, and finally when puyo puyo sun 64 came out on nintendo 64, i think that was definitely the highlight of the entire series -- everything about it was perfect! that said, when i ordered the puyo puyo fever game for my gamecube, i was sadly disappointed!! it just didn't feel like puyo puyo anymore ... something was missing
thankfully sega seems to have corrected this with the release of puyo puyo on the wii! the game goes back to it's roots (you can even select "classic puyo shapes" like the n64 if you don't like the new glassy look) but has added a ton of new play modes
most of the original cast of characters are back (hooray!) and everything just feels better in this version
if you're a fan of the puyo puyo puzzle games, i definitely recommend buying this one! i'm really happy i did (^^;
You can play this game in several other games' special modes, including Classic (Tsuu) and Fever. It also has the ice-block frozen puyo that appeared in PuyoPuyo~n.
I was angry with the Fever games for removing the original Madou Monogatari cast, being a fan of them, but I am delighted to say many of them have returned in this game: Mini-Ganesh, Eggplantgrape, Skatefish, Schezo Wegey, Rulue, and my favourite, Satansama, and of course, Arle and Carbuncle. This alone was enough to win me over, but the gameplay made me stay.
A Must-Have for Every Puyo Puyo Collection! Sega did to the Puyo Puyo series what Nintendo did to Tetris DS. In fact, the resemblance of newer features is kind of scary. Just as Tetris DS featured a "retrio" NES look with classic music, Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary returns to several classic Puyo Puyo characters, all redrawn to fit the quirky, deformed artstyle of the Puyo Puyo Fever characters, who are also in this game. While the game does have Fever Mode as a rule set, purists of the original Puyo Puyo games need not even play this rule, as single-player battles have a random rule set chosen by a roulette before each game. Among Fever and Classic, there are also new rules to play with, such as the ice rule, where all garbage Puyo appear as colored Puyo incased in ice that thaws over the course of a couple turns and automatically creates combos to strike back at the opponent.
Online mode works just like Tetris DS, with 2-player and 4-player modes for both Fever and Classic. The friend code system is availible for friends who want to challenge one another.
